At the heart of AmeriCare Adult Day Health Care.

Our Story

AmeriCare Adult Day Health Care was founded on the vision to create a place where seniors and individuals with disabilities could find a supportive and safe environment within their community.

Irene Nashtut, Founder and Executive Director of AmeriCare ADHC, grew up very close to her grandparents, which built a deep respect and compassion for the elderly. Specifically, Irene’s loving grandmothers, Evegenia and Rosa, played a big role in her upbringing. Both living at home, they spent their long lives surrounded by loving families. Moved by this experience of compassionate care, Irene set out to make her vision a reality.

With 20+ years’ experience working in Health Care (IS, Software Development), Irene brought her vision to life: AmeriCare Adult Day Health Care Center. Here, Irene was able to finally create a space mimicking the love and support she experienced in her home—a nurturing environment helping the elderly and individuals with disabilities stay safe, healthy, and social with the help of compassionate professionals. AmeriCare Adult Day Health Care opened its doors to the heart of San Marcos in 2002.

“The physical therapist helped rehabilitate my leg after I fell. I became a little depressed when I thought I would have to give up my

independence and go to a nursing home. The support of new friends helped me overcome my depression and stay in my apartment!”

ADHC Services in San Diego - Professional Team

About Adult Day Health Care and Community Based Adult Services?

Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) also known as Community Based Adult Services (CBAS) is a licensed Medi-Cal certified health facility that treats the health and supportive needs of adults with multiple, chronic conditions in a safe, homelike day setting.

These facilities aren’t just health-focused.  Socialization is important and a key factor in the holistic approach to healing and caring.  ADHC provides participants with opportunities to participate in a variety of different individual and group activities.

The goal of ADHC / elderly day care center is to prevent or delay placement into other more expensive care settings. This is done by improving and preserving each individual's physical and mental health, improving their quality of life. Adults with chronic conditions are able to successfully live in the community while a benefit for the caregiver is regular respite from 24-hour caregiving responsibility.

ADHC/CBAS (senior day care facilities) promotes optimal health and mental well-being for the participant, compliance with physician treatment plans, support for the caregiver, in a supportive, enjoyable setting.

ADHC/CBAS is a bargain compared to purchasing these services separately!
